Professional Experience

December 2023 -

Professor in Qualitative Research & Reflective Nursing Praxis

I supervise doctoral students using qualitative methodologies on well-being, care of older adults and gender issues. I participate in and lead the planning, design and development of postgraduate modules: 1) Evidence-Based Nursing Practice, 2) Qualitative Research Methods, 3) Advanced Nursing Practice and Reflection in the MSc in Adult Nursing program. I also teach the above modules and/or I am Module Leader for the above modules. Also, I have responsibility for marking assessments, including providing feedback to students and supervising student work. Furthermore, I support students and provide pastoral support as required. I contribute to the development of bids and tenders for research projects. I led/ lead as Scientific Lead or Principle Investigator research activities on externally funded projects. I held roles of: i) Deputy Dean of School, ii) Head of Department, and iii) Head of Curriculum Development. Currently I hold roles of: i) Deputy Head of the MSc in Adult Nursing, ii) Departmental Erasmus Coordinator, iii) Director of Research Lab. of Integrated Healthcare and Wellbeing, Within the capacity of the above roles I effectively chair committees and working groups, and where appropriate supervise or mentor other members of staff, early stage researchers and doctoral students.

Honorary Lecturer & Faculty Manager

I participated in and led the planning, design and development of the modules: 
1) Qualitative Research, 2) Health Promotion and Practicing, 3) Applied Qualitative Research, 4) Integrated Qualitative and Quantitative Research, 5) Health and Society, 6) Promoting Public Health in a Global Context, 7) Dissertation supervision. Also, I was responsible for marking assessments, including providing feedback to students and supervising student work. As the Faculty Manager, I was responsible for 25 faculty members teaching in the program. I was responsible for supporting faculty in delivering modules, scheduling faculty for teaching, monitoring modules, reviewing faculty performance (KPIs), conducting annual faculty performance development, mentoring new faculty members, developing induction weeks for new faculty, identifying trends in faculty performance based on key performance indicators, and identifying and resolving student issue, problems and complains. Also, participated in the University's Faculty Development Advisory Board initiatives which included planning the learning opportunities for faculty, and supported the programme's and overall the University's academic strategic plans.

modules:  1) Research Methodology, 2) Nursing Theory and Adult Nursing, and 
the planning, design and development of postgraduate modules: 1) Evidence-Based  Practice, 2) Reflective and Advanced Nursing Practice and 3) Academic Writing. I also taught the above modules and was Module Leader for the above modules. Also, I was responsible for marking assessments, including providing feedback to students and supervising student work. Furthermore, I supported students and provided pastoral support as required. I contributed to the development of bids and tenders for research projects. Associate Academic (online) in Nursing

I participated in the development and teaching top-up modules: 1) Evidence-Based Practice (BSc), 2) Theory and Reflection to Support Practitioners Undergoing  Preceptorship (BSc), and 3) supervision of BSc dissertations. Also, I participated in and led the planning, design and development of the module Advanced Integrative Practice for the MSc in Professional Practice program. Also, I was responsible for marking assessments, including providing feedback to students and supervising student work.
Finally, I authored the modules a) Theory and Reflection to Support Practitioners  Undergoing Preceptorship (BSc top-up module), b) Advanced Integrative Practice
(MSc module).

March 2003 - August 2006

Lecturer in Adult Nursing

I participated in and led the planning, design and development of the modules:  1) Intensive Care Nursing, 2) Research Module, 3) Evidence-based Practice, 4) Skills for Critical Appraisal, 5) Advanced Nursing Practice. I also taught the above modules and was Module Leader for the Skills of Critical Appraisal and Evidence-based Practice modules, and Program Coordinator for the Master in Advanced Professional Practice program.  Also, I was responsible for marking assessments, including providing feedback to students and supervising student work. Furthermore, I supported students as a mentor/link lecturer and provided pastoral support as required. Finally, I liaised with St. Mary's and Hammersmith Hospitals to support both students and staff in supporting students.
